WE WEAR RED TO SHOW SUPPORT TO OUR SOLDIERS

The reason why people wear something red is to show their support toward our Canadian Forces Troops. It is also a way for us to thank our troops for the work they do and the sacrifices they make.

If asked: why the colour red? Here are the reasons:

·         Red is the official colour of Canada

·         Red reflects the colour of poppies, hence in honour of Remembrance Day

·         Red is in honour of our soldiers who lost their life by defending our country

There is a Canadian English Foundation called: «Red Friday». It is responsible for promoting wearing «red on Fridays», a custom more popular among the Anglophone population; however it has over the past years, reached popularity also among the Francophone population.

Members of RIDE IN RED strongly encourage people to wear something red every time there is an event for Soldiers or Veterans. It is a simple gesture and very much appreciated.

Thank you for your interest in this worthy cause!
